Smashtravel currently organizes high-performance badminton training camps in Indonesia and Japan in Asia, as well as in Sweden in Europe. Together with Smashtravel, you are able to create your own badminton trip that aligns with your goals and expectations. Open to all ages and skill levels, our camps are a chance to improve your game, meet new people, and experience the sport in exciting new environments, whether you join as a solo traveler or as part of a group.

Before traveling to a camp, we take care of the details. From scheduling your arrival and departure, booking accommodation, and arranging airport transfers, to assisting with visas if needed. With trusted local partners, we make sure your trip is simple, organized, and stress-free.

At camp, the focus is on badminton. You will train in a professional yet supportive environment, led by experienced coaches and surrounded by fellow camp participants from around the world. The atmosphere at camp is structured, safe and welcoming, supporting both those with high ambitions as well as players who simply want to refine their skills, enjoy the game, and be part of the growing global badminton community.

Playing badminton in Indonesia is a truly unique experience. Considering its status as a national sport, we wholeheartedly encourage players, regardless of their level, to join a camp here at least once in their lifetime. Each June, we organize Smashtravel Camp in Trollhättan, Sweden, an Asian-inspired high-performance camp for junior players (U13–U19). The badminton camp in Sweden serves as a stepping stone for European players to experience the intensity of Asian-style training, maintain form over the summer, and prepare for the upcoming tournament season. Together with international participants and experienced coaches, we strive to give every player valuable tools to grow and take the next step in their competitive journey.

Our camps in Japan welcome players of all ages and levels to improve their badminton while discovering a culture that has helped shaped the sport into what it is today. The camps take place in Higashimatsuyama, Saitama Prefecture, just an hour from Tokyo, and it brings together Japanese coaches, local athletes, and international players in a supportive environment that blends high-quality training with a meaningful cultural exchange. It’s not only about improving your skills on court, but also about experiencing the values and traditions that make Japanese badminton unique.

Smashtravel was born in 2019, inspired by our founder’s own badminton journey as both a player and coach. In 2014, he spent six months training at PB Djarum in Indonesia. That experience left such a deep impression that, without realizing it at the time, it planted the seed for what would later grow into Smashtravel.

Five years later, over a cup of coffee in Bandung, while talking badminton with a close friend and former Indonesian national player, that seed turned into a clear vision: to give players from around the world access to training environments they might otherwise never experience. The first step was Smashtravel Camp in Sweden, held in June 2020 as the world slowly reopened after the Covid-19 lockdowns.

What started small quickly grew, supported by players and parents who believed in what we were building. Since then, Smashtravel has expanded its operations from Sweden to Indonesia and Japan, with the mission to connect people through badminton, bring together great coaches in supportive training environments, and give players the opportunity to grow on their own terms.

We see the badminton community as one big global family, and we are grateful for how quickly the sport is growing. Your passion inspires us to keep creating new experiences and success stories together.
