Badminton travel is a specialized type of travel that focuses on badminton training, coaching, and sparring exchanges, often in destination countries with top-level badminton facilities. It's different from a regular vacation because it's structured around training sessions rather than leisure activities.

What should I know before going to Indonesia for a badminton camp?
Before embarking on your badminton journey to Indonesia, there are a few essentials to keep in mind.
First, ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date. Depending on your nationality, a visa may be required and applied for in advance. You’ll also need to pay a tourist tax and fill in customs and health forms online. In addition, we strongly recommend having travel and medical insurance that covers both sports-related injuries and unexpected changes to your travel plans.
And most importantly, don’t forget your badminton gear! Pack your racket, shoes, and training clothes, and get ready for the Indonesian badminton experience!
-
What should I know before going to Sweden for a badminton camp?
If you're heading to Sweden for our annual summer camp, here’s what you need to prepare:
Make sure your passport is valid for the entire duration of your stay in Sweden. Most participants from the EU/EEA do not need a visa. However, if you're coming from outside the EU/EEA, it's important to check visa requirements with the nearest Swedish embassy or VFS Global office in your country, and apply through them if necessary.
Swedish summers can be unpredictable, with both sunny days and occasional chilly or rainy weather, so bring both indoor training clothes and something warm for evenings or outings.
In addition, we recommend having travel and medical insurance, even if you’re traveling within Europe. This ensures you’re covered in case of injury or or if any travel disruptions occur.
And of course, bring your badminton equipment! There’s no better way to ruin a camp than realizing your racket is still at home. Prepare well, and lets enjoy a memorable Swedish badminton experience!
-
What are the meal options available if I have dietary restrictions or allergies?

BOOKING & PAYMENTS
-
How do I book a camp?
Fill out the registration form on our website or contact us directly via email or WhatsApp.
-
Can I book as a group or with my club?
Yes! We offer custom camp packages for groups or clubs. If your group includes more than 5 players, you’ll also receive an additional group discount on the camp price.
-
Is there a deadline to register for a badminton camp in Indonesia?
We don’t have a fixed registration deadline for camps in Indonesia, but we highly recommend that you register at least two weeks before your planned arrival. This gives us time to coordinate your training schedule, accommodation, and any special requests with our local partners.
Bookings made with less than two weeks’ notice are sometimes possible but depend on availability and may offer limited flexibility. We encourage early booking to ensure the best possible camp experience.
-
Is there a deadline to register for Smashtravel Camp in Sweden?
Yes. The deadline to register is May 1, but spots often fill up much earlier. Since the camp usually gets fully booked in the early part of the year, we recommend registering as soon as possible to secure your place.
-
Do I need to pay anything to reserve my camp spot in Indonesia or Sweden?
For badminton camps in Indonesia, a 10% deposit or a booked flight ticket is required. For Smashtravel Camp in Sweden, your spot is only confirmed once you pay the initial deposit of 1975 SEK.
-
Is it possible to make changes after I receive my camp confirmation?
It depends on the camp you’ve booked.
For camps in Indonesia, changes such as shifting dates or switching camps/coaches are usually possible, as long as we receive your request at least 14 days before your camp starts. Earlier notice (ideally 30 days before) gives us the best chance to help. Additional charges may apply if the new option has a higher cost.
For Smashtravel Camp in Sweden, changes are generally not possible due to the camp's fixed dates. However, if something unexpected comes up, you're welcome to contact us and we’ll do our best to assist, though changes are not guaranteed.
To request any changes, email us as early as possible at support@smash-travel.com.
-
Which payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash on arrival (Indonesia only), invoice payments, or international bank transfers (IBAN/BIC/SWIFT). Payments for Smashtravel Camp in Sweden, by Swedish citizens, are made via bank giro.
-
What is included in the price of a camp?
In general, the camp price includes all training sessions and related fees, accommodation, and a camp clothing set. Many camps also include airport arrival pickup and hotel drop-off, as well as daily meals, depending on the location and package you choose.
A detailed list of what’s included will be provided when you book your camp.
REFUND
-
Can I cancel my booking and get a refund?
In Indonesia, all payments are non-refundable, as we commit to fixed costs for coaches, venues, transportation, and accommodation in advance. These expenses cannot be recovered once confirmed.
In Sweden, a partial refund may be possible only in the case of injury, provided a valid medical certificate is submitted prior to camp.
No refunds are issued for illness, personal plan changes, or no-shows.
-
Can I get a refund if I miss a training during camp or if I decide to leave the camp early?
If you miss one or more training sessions during a camp, or decide to leave early, whether due to illness, injury, or personal reasons, the sessions you did not attend are neither refundable nor reschedulable.
In the case of injury before the camp begins, you may be eligible for a partial refund if you provide a valid medical certificate. Please refer to our Terms & Conditions for full details.
-
What happens if a camp is cancelled by Smashtravel?
If we are forced to cancel a camp due to low participant numbers or events beyond our control (such as natural disasters or venue issues), we will offer either a full refund or the option to transfer your booking to another camp.
